The Cardiovascular   Operating Room (with  2 operating theatres)/Recovery Room (CVOR/RR) is a stand-alone unit separate from the general operating room and recovery room. This results in a higher level of cleanliness and sterility for open-heart procedures while at the same time ensuring that the nursing staff has a higher level of training and expertise in caring for surgical cardiac patients. It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that gives any operation the highest chance of success.

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with Endovascular Vein Harvest expertise and equipment available

Aortic and mitral valve replacement/repair (AVR and MVR)

Tricuspid valve repair/replacement

Pulmonary valvotomy/RV outlet reconstruction

Repair of atrial septal defect (ASD)

Repair of ventricular septal defect (VSD)

Repair of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA)

Repair of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)

Creation of systemic-to-pulmonary shunts

Repair of complex congenital heart defects

Repair of thoracic and aortic dissection and aneurysm

Repair of coarctation of the aorta

Bypass of iliac and femoral arteries

Peripheral balloon embolectomy and thrombus aspiration

Carotid endarterectomy

Creation of AV fistula/AV graft/Perm-Cath

Kidney transplantation

Removal of intracardiac tumors

The Telemetry or Stepdown unit is a unit dedicated to caring for cardiac patients needing intermediate level care. Patients who have undergone surgeries or angioplasties are observed here while they undergo cardiac rehabilitation with progressive physical activities. It is equipped with wireless ECG transmitters allowing increased patient mobility and comfort. This unit is capable of providing ICU-level care if needed.
