Radiology

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The Residency Training program is 4 Year Calendar type. One Resident each level. Complying with the minimum basic requirement prescribe by the Philippine College of Radiology (PCR)

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

A syllabus given by the PCR for the 1st-4th Year Resident in Training services and guide for assigned topics to be covered. One resident at level giving a total of 4 residents. The 4th Year Resident will be appointed as Chief resident

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1st Year Resident

- Rotate in Diagnostic Radiology perform special procedure

- Rotate Consultant during fill in interpretation

2nd Year Resident

- Same as 1st year resident plus 2-3 months Intensive rotation in the Section of Mammography

3rd Year Resident

- Will be rotating in different Sections of Ultrasound, CT Scan and MRI covering a period of 6 months each.

4th Year Resident

- Serve as chief resident of the Department

- Must rotate in other affiliated Hospital for learning experience in the section of MRI, Linear Accelerator, Cardiac Catherization.

CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE TO THE PROGRAM

The following cirteria should be fulfilled before an applicant can be accepted into the program:

- He/she shall have a degree in Medicine and must have finished internship training in an institution accredited by the Association of Philippine Medical College (APMC)

- He/she shall have passed the examination given by the Board of Medicine of the Professional Regulation Commission of the Republic of the Philippines and possess a license to practice medicine in the Philippines

- He/she shall have passed the qualifying exam and interview given by the Residency training Committee and department

- He/she must have good moral character as attested by persons endorsing the applicant

- He/she shall have completed a period of pre-residency training during which time his/her performance shall be evaluated by house staff and consultants of the department.

BOARD AND LODGING

- Meals 3x/day (midnight and snack for those on duty)

- Uniforms (2 blazers throughout Residency)

- Vacation Leave (2 weeks a year)
